My Top 20 of 2012 – Number 16
After a two-day break for Christmas, I bring you day five of my Top 20 of 2012 countdown.
Before continuing, have you checked out the previous four days in my daily countdown? If not, shame on you! Put down that half-eaten Turkey leg and giant chocolate bar and have a look at Day 4 (symphonic folk black metal) , Day 3 (modern thrash/death) , Day 2 (Melodic Progressive metal) and Day 1 (dark/doom metal)

‘Address The Nation’
earMUSIC
2012 has been a year where my love for melodic hard rock has been solidified. I always liked this genre having grown up with the likes of Def Leppard. However, 2012 was the year that I embraced it whole-heartedly, spending much of the summer singing loudly and out of tune to some quality hard rock tunes.
As such, H.E.A.T’s sophomore release, ‘Address The Nation’ finds itself firmly within my Top 20 at number 16.
‘Address The Nation’ is chock full of melodic rock anthems full of unabashed up-tempo intent and huge hook-laden choruses that recall those halcyon days of the 80s…when I was knee-high to a grasshopper! If you do not sing your heart out when you listen to music like this then there’s no hope for you. This is thoroughly marvellous feel-good music.
